It’s official! Following the release of Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” music video, the Queen of Rap has broken the 24-hour VEVO record by notching more than 19.6 million views in one day.
The feat was last accomplished by Miley Cyrus’ Terry Richardson-directed “Wrecking Ball” visual, which garnered 19.3 million streams in its first 24 hours last September.

In 2012, Nicki’s “Stupid Hoe” video set the 24-hour record at 4.8 million. Just months later, Rihanna broke the record with “Where Have You Been” (4.9 million) and then Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” (8 million).
“Anaconda” is the latest single from Ms. Minaj’s third album The Pink Print, due later in the year. On Sunday, August 24, she performs the cut for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards at 9 p.m. ET.
